Promoting and Providing Curling for the Greater KC Metro Area
The Kansas City Curling Club is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit Organization. Our club coordinates curling activities for people of all ages by offering instruction, training, practice, and league play by providing equipment and ice rentals. This foundation gives our curlers the means to become competitive athletes on the regional, national and international stage. Locally, our club hosts multiple bonspiels (curling tournaments) much like most curling clubs do when we travel to them. Our BBQ Bonspiel has sold out on numerous occasions attracting curlers from all corners of the United States (i.e. Seattle, New York, Texas), as well as several Canadian teams from Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
After 25 years of curling on hockey rinks in both Kansas and Missouri, our club is now the only dedicated curling facility within 350 miles. KC Curling starts a new chapter in its evolution as a dedicated facility strictly for curling. With more ice time for leagues, practice, and rentals, along with better ice conditions for curling, more programs can be offered to those parties that are interested. We may one day have an Olympic curler who trained within our walls.
Our current fundraising efforts are set to help us as we transition from a club of 100 to 500. We would greatly appreciate any participation and/or financial support to curling in Kansas City you can provide; all donations are tax deductible.
Most importantly, we want you to give this sport a try. We hope to see you on the ice!
All of our programs are for beginner and experienced curlers alike. You only get better by playing.

History / Future
Starting in 1987, the Kansas City Curling Club continues to grow and work to grow the sport in the KC Metro Area and beyond

Crown Center Ice Terrace
1987 - We first curled at the Ice Chateau in Overland Park for one year before the club moved to Crown Center Ice Terrace. There, the ice sheet was smaller in size. In curling outdoors, it gave members a sense of what curling may have been like some 400 years ago. Despite building interest in the club, loss of good ice times plus inconsistent weather made curling unreliable and difficult to build membership. In 1995, finding no financial alternatives we ceased curling.

Pepsi Ice Midwest
In 2003, a few members saw the recent successes of new clubs in Texas and Florida due to Olympic Fever, and decided to reconstitute the club at the newly built facility in southern Overland Park (Pepsi Ice Midwest). They renewed their aged equipment with generous donations within the club and borrowing one set of stones from the Aksarben Curling Club in Omaha, Nebraska.

Line Creek Community Center
In 2011 Pepsi Ice Midwest closed and the club moved to the Line Creek Community Center. Here the ice, lighting, and sound proved to be better in many ways and the staff continued to make us feel welcome. We thank them still today, as they help us in our next stepl

KC Curling, Blue Springs, MO
In 2022, we opened our first dedicated curling facility along I-70 for all of KC to see. Now, we will be able to offer expanded programming and increase our membership to all that are interested in curling. Maintaining steady number, 2025, as an Olympic year, should see increase membership with the exposure.
