About...

This juniors league is for youth curlers of all abilities.  Open to everyone, learn strategy and teamwork in a fun and social environment. Play once a week (barring holidays and special events). 

  Who: Curlers 10-18, younger curlers permitted with instructor and league manager approval.  We are limited to 32 spots per league on a first registered basis.

  When: Sundays 3:15 pm - 7 games over 10 weeks, will not play on 10/15 or 11/19

  Where: KC Curling Club 2525 NW S Outer Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015

 What to Bring: 

• Bring a clean pair of soft rubber soled shoes to change into that have good grip on a smooth surface.
• Layered loose fitted clothes that will keep you warm at 45 degrees. 
• We have limited helmets, so you are welcome to bring your own if you want additional safety while on the ice rink. Curlers 12 and under must have an approved helmet, helmets may be rented from the club.
• Signed Waiver or be prepared to sign one at the rink.

Mission: The mission of the Kansas City Junior Curling Program is to introduce young people to curling as a fun, recreational sport, to engage students in skill development,  to provide a venue for organized games, and to encourage the spirit of curling.  

Ages: 10-18, younger curlers permitted with instructor and league manager approval

Cost: $70 for the fall session.  If it is your first time trying curling you may come the first time for free then register once you decide to join. If you are joining late the league fee will be prorated based on the number of weeks remaining for late enrollees.  No refunds will be given for absences.

Format:  All ages participating at the same time.  League will run 2 hours and include instruction, game play, and broomstacking.  Teams will be assigned each week by the league director.  

Curler Expectations:

• Maintain membership in KC Curling Club
• Arrive on time.  If you are not present for the instruction portion of the session you will not be allowed to participate in that week’s game play
• To participate on the ice, curlers will need to “carry-in” a pair of athletic shoes.
• Curlers are expected to behave according to the sportsmanship guidelines set forth in this document.  
  • A curler may be removed from the ice for unsportsmanlike behavior.  
  • If an individual is removed from the ice a second time in the same season for unsportsmanlike behavior the curler will be suspended from that season’s league and no refund will be granted.
• All junior curlers will not be permitted to enter the curling club until two adults, over the age of 21, representing KC Curling Club are present.

Parent Expectations:

• All parents are expected to show good sportsmanship.
• A parent/designated adult of a junior curler under the age of 16 must remain in the KC Curling club during jr. league
• All adults will refrain from serving alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age, and only club approved bartenders are allowed behind the bar
• Open or concealed carry is NOT allowed in the KC Curling Club
• Please inform league manager of known absences
• Report Safesport concerns to the league manager or club board member, or the US center for Safesport

Equipment

• The club will provide brooms and sliders for each participant
• All curlers 12 years of age and younger are required to wear a helmet in the ice shed.  
  • Curlers may provide their own helmet
  • Curlers may rent a helmet from the club for $25 per season
    • Failure to return the helmet will result in a $60 charge
• The club assumes responsibility for cleaning of the helmets at the end of each season
